5 Star Real Madrid beat Valencia plus video

Posted on January 21, 2013 by admin

Real Madrid were firing on all cylinders yesterday, and any arguments between the players and the coach were forgotten as Madrid showed what they can do away to Valencia. Valencia were a little unfortunate not to get any goals, as they did have a few chances and could possibly have had a penalty, but Ronaldo could also have had a penalty and Madrid could have scored more than the five they did.

Angel Di Maria had been told in no uncertain terms last week that his effort and performances were not good enough and he would be shipped out of the club if it did not improve. Mourinho gave the Argentinean the chance to prove his worth from the start, and the manager’s words had the desired effect.

Di Maria was involved in everything, right from the start. He had already set up one goal for Higuain which his team mate had somehow missed before he did the same again after 10 minutes. Higuain made no mistake the second time and the floodgates were open.

Ronaldo was also in devastating form yesterday. He had also had a disagreement with Mourinho last week, but was not dropped from the team as some in the Spanish media expected. Mourinho has been heavily criticised for his management style this season, but it has always been successful in the past and he definitely got results yesterday.

The Portuguese magician tormented Valencia down the left, setting up Di Maria for Madrid’s second before scoring two him self, the first a brilliant solo effort, the second assisted by Di Maria. The Argentine completed the scoring just before half time and the game was effectively over. see highlights below.
