The manager and executives of Real Madrid have now got a tough decision to make about the future of the Argentinean international Gonzalo Higuain. The 25-year old striker is currently training with his Madrid team mates, but he has made it clear to Carlo Ancelotti that he has not changed his mind about wanting a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

The club he was thought to be on the verge of joining last week is Arsenal, but they have told Madrid that they will definitely not meet the 40 million euros valuation that Madrid were after. According to Marca, they have already raised their early offer from 21 million to 26, but they are adamant that this is the most they will pay. Apparently, the Premier League club have already agreed personal terms with Higuain, and he wants to go.

Ancelotti must now decide whether it is worth keeping the striker against his wishes or selling him and putting the money towards another player, such as Suarez or Ibrahimovic. There is a big complication, also, in the fact that Arsenal are also chasing Suarez. They have already had one offer of £30 million rejected, but are preparing a better one, according to English media reports. If that is accepted, Madrid could lose the striker they wanted and be stuck with one they don’t.
