Bale WILL play for Real Madrid vs. Malaga today

Carlo Ancelotti has got a few of his Real Madrid stars missing for today’s La Liga visit of Malaga to the Bernabeu, most notably Rafael Varane, the young French international defender, who picked up a knock to his knee whil with the France team. It’s not serious, but it means that Pepe and Sergio Ramos will start today.

Another player who is a doubt, after sitting out yesterday’s training session with a bruised calf. The French striker may still be okay, and will surely be keen to continue his international form, where he scored in both games. Benzema has been working hard and has began to look like his old self, so he will not want to have to sit this one out.

Ancelotti is still without long term absentee Xabi Alonso, and could start with Khedira, Isco and Illarramendi in midfield. Those three should provide plenty of energy and steel as well as creativity in the middle of the pitch. The big news is that Gareth Bale will definitely play some part, as the club aims for him to be fully ready for next weekend’s trip to the Nou Camp and Barcelona in El Clasico.

The Welshman could even start, in place of Angel Di Maria on the right, and see how long he lasts. His inclusion after all these frustrating fitness and injury complications will be a huge relief for the player as well as the Madrid fans, and hopefully we can finally start to see the new look Madrid playing with some real style instead of scraping a result.
