BANG goes Bale for Real Madrid with another injury KO

Posted on January 30, 2014 by admin

Real Madrid face a crucial weekend in La Liga after fighting back brilliantly to move to within a point of league leaders Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Ancelotti’s men have really put the pressure on the front runners and have been building up to some ominously good form, so to get another injury setback to the new star Gareth Bale is a real blow.

According to Spanish news outlet AS, the Welshman is certain to miss this weekend’s away game at Athletic Bilbao, which already promised to give Real Madrid a stern test, especially as we are the last of the top three to play. Barcelona are at home to Valencia on Saturday while Atletico have a home game against Real Sociedad eartlier on Sunday.

So Real could easily find themselves four points adrift again when they kick off. The injury to Bale seems to have resulted from the painful looking blow to his most personal of parts in last weekend’s game, which every man watching will have winced at. Thankfully it does not seem that Bale will miss more than one game, which is good news with a Copa Del Rey semi-final against Atletico coming up next midweek.

It is vital that Real Madrid don’t drop off the pace again, so we will need to see the likes of Di Maria and Isco really step up if they are picked to replace him. Ancelotti may even go for young Jese Rodriguez who has really repaid the faith of the manager this season. Who would you pick to replace Bale?
