Callejon sold to Napoli but Jese Rodriguez to stay at Real Madrid

The transfer window continues at a frantic pace for Real Madrid and the new coach Carlo Ancelotti. Having already captured the fantastic young Spanish midfielder Isco from Malaga ahead of Manchester City, Madrid have agreed to release Jose Callejon.

The 26-year old, who plays either as a forward or as a wide attacking player, was a fans favourite at the Bernabeu, partly because he came through the youth system. He always gave everything to the club, but realised that he might have to leave to guarantee himself regular first team football. Rafa Benitez was glad to offer him that chance at Napoli, so the Serie A club have completed the transfer for 10 million euros.

Madrid fans do not need to worry that Ancelotti only wants to buy players while ignoring the talented youngsters coming through the ranks though. The Italian has already assured the young striker Alvaro Morata that he will be given plenty of chances to impress next season, and now he has persuaded Jese Rodriguez not to join Tottenham but to stay and fight for his place in the Madrid team.

The 20-year old winger will now have to fight it out with Angel Di Maria for that coveted starting position.
