Mourinho must do without Alonso for Real Madrid vs. Real Zaragoza 0

Posted on November 02, 2012 by admin

The 30-year old midfield general, Xabi Alonso, played his 100th competitive game for Real Madrid in September and he has become one of the most reliable players at the club, if not the world. He also played his 100th game for the Spanish national side during Euro 2012. He marked that event with both goals as Spain beat France in the quarter finals, on their way to lifting the trophy again.

Jose Mourinho will have to shuffle his playing pack tomorrow, however, as Alonso is suspended for the game due to collecting his fifth yellow card in this La Liga season. Alonso has always been combative but does not normally get booked quite so often.

Things have been a bit quiet om the transfer front, with many players still on holiday but I expect things to start happening now.

It looks like Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid will not be signing David Silva from Manchester City. The Spanish midfielder is close to signing a lucrative new five year deal with the English champions. It had begun to look like it was not going to happen after Portugal created a host of chances without finding the back of the net. Ronaldo himself had already hit the post twice and must have been getting frustrated.

It has become well known that Jose Mourinho would love to add 26-year old Spanish international David Silva to the Real Madrid squad. The versatile and creative midfielder has been impressive at Euro 2012 so far and is seen as the perfect replacement for Kaka.

Kaka has been hinting that he wants a move away from Madrid, and Mourinho is ready to let him go. The Madrid boss had been insistent that he would not sell Kaka, but he has fallen out of favour and will need to be replaced.

There will be a new look to the Real Madrid midfield in the coming season. Jose Mourinho is in the market for a creative and attacking midfielder and, according to The Sun, he is about to offer 37 million euros for Manchester City player David Silva.

Silva told the press earlier this year that he was happy at Man City and planned to stay their for many years but Mourinho is determined to at least try an approach. Roberto Mancini regards Silva as one of his best players so would be loath to lose him.

Jose Mourinho has not given up on his two main targets for adding to Real Madrid’s attacking line up. Manchester City and Spain midfielder David Silva has been brilliant at Euro 2012 so far and Real Madrid would love to add his qualities to the squad.

Brazilian midfield starlet Lucas Moura is the other major target for Mourinho. The 19-year old has been in sparkling form for Sao Paulo and Brazil, nut Madrid face strong competition from Chelsea and Inter Milan for his services.
