Ronaldo up for Leganes but Real Madrid need clean sheet 0

Posted on November 05, 2016 by admin

The opponents for Real Madrid today are Leganes and the newly promoted club will be massive underdogs to take anything away from the Santiago Bernabeu, especially after losing their last three La Liga matches in a row while Los Blancos stay two points clear of Barcelona at the top.

Not everything has been going fright for Madrid of late, however, with top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo having looked out of sorts and with the side needing a late goal away to the Polish club Legia Warsaw in midweek just to rescue a Champions League point.

Real Madrid hold a two-point lead over Barcelona in the La Liga title race after two months of the campaign in their bid to win the Spanish top-flight crown for the first time in five seasons. Los Blancos have been thwarted by the Catalan club and bitter rivals Atletico Madrid in their bid for the major domestic honour, despite their success in the Champions League.

‘Crisis’ over as Real Madrid looking good in La Liga and Europe 0

Well that was a pretty short lived ‘crisis’ for Real Madrid wasn’t it? It just shows you, though, what great pressure there is on the manager and players of this great club, with the football media so willing to talk about a crisis just because Los Blancos drew a few games, even after Zinedine Zidane had steered Madrid to a record run of La Liga wins and another Champions League trophy.

Real Madrid in trouble after draw and Ronaldo sub strop? 0

What a difference a week makes eh? Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid were absolutely flying along this time last week, having just put Espanyol to the sword to equal the La Liga record of straight wins set by fierce rivals Barcelona and continue the 100 percent start to the new domestic league campaign.

The fact that Barca had suffered that shock defeat at home to newly promoted Alaves and seen Lionel Messi ruled out with injury, while Atletico Madrid have yet to find their best form, made the future look very bright for Los Blancos. But things do not look so rosy today.

Real Madrid look better bet for La Liga than Champions League 0

Posted on September 16, 2016 by admin

Real Madrid did get this season’s Champions League campaign off to a winning start against the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon this week, but it was a far from convincing performance that left all the pre-match talk about Los Blancos looking like a good bet to become the first club top retain the European Cup in the4 UCL era look a bit shaky.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the inspiration for the late turnaround and you can never give up hope when CR7 is on the pitch, but he has not been scoring free kicks too often of late and on another day and with another referee he would not even have had the chance after what looked like minimal contact from the Sporting player.

Real Madrid need to beat Sevilla without Ronaldo to kick off La Liga 0

Despite the fact that Real Madrid fans have had to suffer in recent years as the traditional title of the best team in Spain has been usurped by the Catalan rivals FC Barcelona, especially in the league. Eight of the last 12 La Liga titles have gone to our great rivals and one has been taken by our city rivals Atletico Madrid and that is simply not good enough.

Zinedine Zidane will hope that his Real Madrid stars return back from international duty for their respective countries at Euro 2016 and the Copa America fit and raring to go ahead of the new La Liga season. Many players, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, showed the football world just how good they are with performances and goals which lit the tournament up, with Ronaldo and Pepe reporting back to the Bernabeau with yet another winner’s medal following Portugal’s victory against France at the Stade de France.

Once again the mighty Real Madrid have ended the season by being crowned the champions of Europe, making it an amazing and untouchable record of lifting the European cup 11 times. So after a difficult season which looked for a long time that it would end without us winning a thing, everyone concerned with Real Madrid will be feeling a lot happier now than we did a few months ago.

What Real Madrid fans can expect from Euro 2016? 0

Just one game to go for Real Madrid this season and it is certainly a big one and hopefully the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid on Saturday ends in the same result as we got two years ago. It would be nice for the nerves of anyone concerned with Los Blancos, however, if this Real Madrid side did not leave it as late as the last one.

But when the dust has settled on this huge European game, Real Madrid thoughts will turn to Euro 2016 and our preparations for next season and the summer tournament could have a significant effect on those preparations, for a number of reasons.

Zidane to keep same Real Madrid XI for Champions League final? 0

Posted on May 19, 2016 by admin

As Real Madrid still had a chance of nipping ahead of great rivals Barcelona to win this season’s La Liga title and be crowned champions of Spain, Zinedine Zidane would have had no thoughts of rotating his squad and resting players for the Champions League final, which they are favourites to win with every online Sportsbook.

Only a win would do for Real Madrid last weekend, which we got but unfortunately so did Barca meaning that we fell just short. However, with the boss having no injury problems to concern him, it looks like team that started against Deportivo La Coruna in the final league game is what Zidane sees as his best XI, so will that be the same side that starts the Champions League final against city rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday?
