Securing the services of one of the most talented young players in world football is a true symbol of Real Madrid’s ability to attract the very best to a club steeped in heritage and unparalleled success. Poor old Deportivo! Some team in Spain’s La Liga were going to get the backlash after Real Madrid had a slow and frustrating start to the season, and it was the team from La Coruna that bore the brunt yesterday, as Los Balncos went goal crazy, potting an amazing EIGHT goals past the home side.

And there were some real crackers in there as well, as you can see in the highlights below. The Welsh wizard Gareth Bale was sharp, alert and finished his two goals in clinical and ruthless style, while the goal machine that is Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed yet another hat-trick to add to the huge heap that he has already, something like 24 now.

As Real Madrid slumped to a shock defeat at Villareal last night after going in to a 2-0 defeat and looking nailed on to increase the lead, it was the defensive side of Madrid that looked like it could do with a boost. But it is the forward are that Carlo Ancelotti has improved on deadline day.

As Sky Sports have just reported, Madrid have sealed the deal with Manchester United for their Mexico international Javier Hernandez. Commonly known as Chicharito which means `little pea`, the 26-year old has joined on a season long loan deal. The contract also apparently includes a clause which gives Madrid the option to sign him on a permanent basis if we want to.

Before the Spanish La Liga season has even started, quite a few football pundits are writing off the chances of Real Madrid finishing top of the table next May. And following their defeat to the reigning champions Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup, you may never get such good odds on Carlo Ancelotti leading his players to the title.

With Barcelona having spent well on a few key players and with a new man at the helm, the Catalans are expected to be a real force again this season. No matter what you think of Luis Suarez and his wayward teeth, there is no doubt that the Uruguay international striker is a top player who can make a big difference.

It is no great secret that the priority for Real Madrid, the fans, the players and the whole club, is to finally win that historic 10th European cup. But while the Champions League is the glamour trophy, Real Madrid also feel that they should be champions of Spain.

With Barcelona having a torrid season after an early start, that would normally have been wrapped up, but Atletico have really blown the two team dominance apart. But Real Madrid kept up the pressure on their city rivals with a good win over Osasuna.

Ronaldo’s Portugal: A One-Man Team?

Football fans around the world will be hoping that Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t rush Cristiano Ronaldo back onto the pitch, in order to play in the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich. Any recurrence of his existing knee and hamstring problems could be a disaster for his – and Portugal’s – World Cup hopes.

That historic and record breaking 10th Champions League victory has been on the minds of Real Madrid for 12 years now, ever since Zinedine Zidane scored that peach of a volley to give Madrid the trophy in 2002. The pressure has been cranked up on every Madrid manager since, but despite regularly getting to the latter stages, `La Decima` has evaded them all.

Fans flock to Real Madrid but they won’t see Ronaldo in Copa final 0

So here we are at another El Clasico contest between Real Madrid and Barcelona to decide who lifts the Copa Del Rey in 2014. After their recent problems, this is probably more important to the Catalan club because it looks like their best chance of getting their hands on a trophy this season, but Carlo Ancelotti and his players are determined to stop that happening.

The bad news for Real Madrid is that our best player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has not recovered from the injury he picked up a couple of weeks ago against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League first leg. The second leg showed just how much Madrid can struggle without the Portuguese superstar, although this weekend’s La Liga win showed that we have plenty of quality throughout the side.
