Real Madrid NEED Bale AND Ronaldo to start against Bayern 0

Posted on April 23, 2014 by admin

That historic and record breaking 10th Champions League victory has been on the minds of Real Madrid for 12 years now, ever since Zinedine Zidane scored that peach of a volley to give Madrid the trophy in 2002. The pressure has been cranked up on every Madrid manager since, but despite regularly getting to the latter stages, `La Decima` has evaded them all.

Fans flock to Real Madrid but they won’t see Ronaldo in Copa final 0

Posted on April 16, 2014 by admin

So here we are at another El Clasico contest between Real Madrid and Barcelona to decide who lifts the Copa Del Rey in 2014. After their recent problems, this is probably more important to the Catalan club because it looks like their best chance of getting their hands on a trophy this season, but Carlo Ancelotti and his players are determined to stop that happening.

The bad news for Real Madrid is that our best player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has not recovered from the injury he picked up a couple of weeks ago against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League first leg. The second leg showed just how much Madrid can struggle without the Portuguese superstar, although this weekend’s La Liga win showed that we have plenty of quality throughout the side.

Real Madrid favourites to pass Schalke and keep treble hopes alive 0

After a shaky start to the season, Real Madrid are hitting top gear and looking very good. Carlo Ancelotti seems to have got a great atmosphere going in the dressing room and, after a fair bit of tinkering with team selection and formation, the Italian seems to have settled into a more regular system for Madrid.

It is paying off handsomely, with a place in the Copa Del Rey final already assured. The weekend then saw Barcelona and Atletico fail to keep up with Real and means Los Blancos have taken a three point lead at the top of La Liga. Of course, a domestic double would be fantastic and would eclipse any of the seasons under Jose Mourinho, but what everyone at the club really wants is another Champions League triumph.

Real Madrid vs. Elche preview – Ronaldo red card decision could be costly 0

Real Madrid will host lowly Elche at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the result is not as straighforward as you would think. For one thing, Carlo Ancelotti has had his preparations for today’s game disrupted by a baffling decision by the panel set up to make rulings on all sorts of disciplinary cases.

The Italian manager had expected them to decide this morning that the three match ban given to Ronaldo for the slightest of touches on the captain of Bilbao a couple of weeks ago was too harsh. So Ancelotti had prepared for the game with Ronaldo in the team, but the three game ban was upheld.

Real Madrid ready for Atletico backlash in Copa Del Rey 0

Posted on February 11, 2014 by admin

Real Madrid are in a great position in the Copa Del Rey. They are 3-0 up from the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu and that would usually be enough to think that a place in the final was just a formality, but that is not the case tonight.

Because the opponents are Atletico Madrid and Ancelotti and his players are expecting a tough night. Not only are Atletico fierce city rivals, but there home crown always makes a trip to the Vicente Calderon a difficult one and they will be especially fired up tonight, as will Diego Simeone and his players.

Real Madrid boss asures fans Bale is NOT injured and WILL face Villareal 0

Posted on February 07, 2014 by admin

There have been some real concerns among Real Madrid fans and some sections of the Spanish media this week. Following the decision of the football authorities to uphold the red card shown to Cristiano Ronaldo last weekend, this weekend’s La Liga clash with Villareal was looking like a tough one.

Gareth Bale has missed the last three games with injury, after suffering a painful kick to his privates, but he should have been back by now and there have been suggestions that the talented Welshman had suffered a recurrence of the calf problem that was dogging him earlier in the season.

Pique and Ancelotti back Real Madrid star over sending off 0

Carlo Ancelotti has spoken to the press today ahead of the Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid semi-final first leg of the Copa Del Rey. The Italian manager is sweating on the complaints committee who are due to decide on whether the ban for Cristiano Ronaldo will be repealed and, if not, how long it will be.

It could even be extended, after the Portuguese Ballon D’Or winner was reported by the match referee for an offensive gesture towards the fourth official as he left the pitch. Ronaldo slapped his cheek a couple of times, which seems to be taken as referring to oral sex and players who have been pulled up for this before have been handed down extra bans of up to four games.

BANG goes Bale for Real Madrid with another injury KO 0

Posted on January 30, 2014 by admin

Real Madrid face a crucial weekend in La Liga after fighting back brilliantly to move to within a point of league leaders Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Ancelotti’s men have really put the pressure on the front runners and have been building up to some ominously good form, so to get another injury setback to the new star Gareth Bale is a real blow.

According to Spanish news outlet AS, the Welshman is certain to miss this weekend’s away game at Athletic Bilbao, which already promised to give Real Madrid a stern test, especially as we are the last of the top three to play. Barcelona are at home to Valencia on Saturday while Atletico have a home game against Real Sociedad eartlier on Sunday.

Bale off the boil but WILL start for Real Madrid at Betis 0

Posted on January 18, 2014 by admin

There are concerns at Real Madrid over the recent poor performances of Gareth Bale, the most expensive player in the world. Nobody is exactly panicking or regretting the decision to sign the Welshman just yet, but there are some rumblings.

It is a bit harsh on Bale, in my opinion, because he did not set his own price and his Madrid career so far has been beset by niggling injury problems. And despite that, Bale is the club’s third top scorer behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema and he has played less than those two as well as Isco, Di Maria and others.

Real Madrid have no worries after Champions League draw with Schalke 0

Posted on December 16, 2013 by admin

There is not really any such thing as an easy game in the last 16 of the Champions League, but Real Madrid players, fans and manager will be quite pleased to have drawn the German Bundesliga club Schalke for the knockout games due to be played in February.

It could have been a lot worse and it could have been a little better. Zenit St. Petersburg or Olympiakos would probably have been the choice, but Madrid did very well to avoid Arsenal, Man City or AC Milan. Even better news is that Barcelona were drawn with Man City and Bayern were drawn with Arsenal, so two very strong sides will be going out.
