Fans flock to Real Madrid but they won’t see Ronaldo in Copa final

So here we are at another El Clasico contest between Real Madrid and Barcelona to decide who lifts the Copa Del Rey in 2014. After their recent problems, this is probably more important to the Catalan club because it looks like their best chance of getting their hands on a trophy this season, but Carlo Ancelotti and his players are determined to stop that happening.

The bad news for Real Madrid is that our best player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has not recovered from the injury he picked up a couple of weeks ago against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League first leg. The second leg showed just how much Madrid can struggle without the Portuguese superstar, although this weekend’s La Liga win showed that we have plenty of quality throughout the side.

One thing is for sure, Madrid will have the stadium behind them tonight. Despite being held in neutral Valencia, which is closer to Barcelona than Madrid, fans of Real apparently outnumber those of Barca by a massive three to one. And they should have plenty to cheer about, especially if the Madrid team can make a fast start and put pressure on their rivals who have hit a wall and are without their best central defender Gerard Pique.

A lot depends on Lionel Messi, I suppose, who broke the record of leading scorer in Clasico games in the last clash at the Bernabeu, but the Argentinean has looked really out of sorts lately and without him, Barca are a shadow of themselves. Los Blancos can pretty much finish off their rivals’ season with a win tonight. Hala Madrid!
