France deliver new blow to Real Madrid striker Benzema!!

Just when the struggling Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema needs a bit of a pick-me-up, he has been dealt yet another blow to his confidence and self-esteem. The manager of the France national team, Didier Deschamps, has revealed that Benzema will start on the bench for the second game in a row, when they take on Australia in a friendly match in Paris tonight.

It is hardly surprising, I suppose, considering that Benzema has not scored a goal for France in over 1200 minutes. The man to replace him is the Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, who has been in great form for the Premier League side this season. Although this friendly game has little meaning, France want to be in winning ways before taking on Finland in their final qualifying game.

What Madrid need, apart from the obvious of Benzema not picking up an injury, is for him to come on as a substitute and score, whether tonight or on Tuesday. We know that Benzema has lots of talent and is a class player, but he just needs something to kick start his season. Losing his international place is not going to help him at all, but nobody is going to do it for him, and Benzema needs to do something quickly before the Madrid fans lose all patience and the Club decides to sell him.
