Good Real Madrid win ruined by terrible referee Romero (with highlights)

Jose Mourinho must be absolutely furious after seeing his Real Madrid side on the wrong side of a whole string of strange and incorrect decisions by the referee Paradas Romero. Thankfully, the result was not affected, and the player he sent off for two yellow cards will only miss next weekend’s game against Deportivo.

It was a real shame for the young striker Alvaro Morata who was given his first start in La Liga by Mourinho. The 20-year old striker who has done so well in the Madrid B team opened the scoring in the third minute after a sweeping move involving Ronaldo and Kaka. The Brazilian midfielder was also given a rare start and was determined to show that he can still grace any football pitch.

When Sergio Ramos headed Madrid’s second goal after 18 minutes, it was looking like we would have a goal fest, but then Senor Romero decided to step in and spoil the game. He booked Ramos for something that was not even a foul, then compounded his error just minutes later by showing a second yellow for a debatable hand ball. The ball did hit his hand but it was very close to him. Later in the game the ref proved his bias by failing to show cards to Rayo players for worse offences, including handball.

Unluckily for Morata, he was the player sacrificed to shore up the defense after the dismissal of Ramos, but he does have the fantastic figures of two league goals after just 138 minutes on the pitch. Madrid played well for the rest of the game, and kept a clean sheet, but it could have been so much better.
