Real Madrid Injury update ahead of Getafe match – Alonso, Marcelo, Di Maria and Khedira all doubtful

Alonso, Marcelo, Di Maria and Khedira are all unlikely to be fit for Real Madrid’s squad for Saturday`s game at Getafe. Marcelo had an M.R.I scan on his hamstring to discover the extent of the problem and did not train yesterday. The squad was given 2 days of rest following their win on Saturday which stretched their lead to 7 points with a lacklustre Barcelona only managing a draw.

Yesterday saw very light training for Alonso and Di Maria so it looks like another week at least before they are fit to play. Sergio Ramos will also miss the match as the second yellow card he received against Barcelona was strangely upheld despite video evidence showing a distinct lack of contact.

However Madrid should head into the match full of confidence with the four attacking players of Christiano, Benzema, Kaka and Ozil looking seriously dangerous. After this match, Real do not play away in the league for over a month and have only the champion`s league tie against CSKA Moscow to distract them from taking a stranglehold on the La Liga title race.

With Barcelona facing a tough semi-final first leg against Valencia tonight, and not kicking off until Real Madrid have finished they could face Real Sociedad on Saturday night being 10 points off the top, under pressure and physically and mentally tired. Surely there has been no better time for Madrid to ensure that they reclaim the title of Spanish champions. Vamos.
