Kaka, Ozil and Higuain shine in the Bernabeu

Along with the result, Real Madrid had many reasons to be happy with their day`s work yesterday. Gonzalo Higuain ended his goal drought with a superb double strike. Kaka was back at his best and got on the score sheet, while alongside him Ozil ran the game, especially in the first half, and left the pitch to a rapturous ovation. Khedira scored after his injury lay-off and Morata came on at the end for his first taste of La Liga this season. The strength of the squad is looking awesome.

Higuain showed no sign of going through a crisis of confidence and pounced on his chance to score in the 47th minute, to the delight of the Madrid faithful who responded with cries of “Pipa, Pipa.” He then bagged a second on 78 minutes and was then replaced by Morata and recieved a standing ovation.

Kaka was dynamic and supremely effective and said that he felt “good and loose in the field. I succeeded in what I tried to do. It is a game that will give me a lot of confidence to see if I can maintain my standard.” The Bernabeu may well get what it has been expecting from the Brazilian since his move from Milan.

The only dark cloud was the disappointing return of Carvalho, who was whistled by the fans and substituted at half-time.
