Kondogbia reveals dream of playing for Real Madrid

Geoffrey Kondogbia has been one of the best young players in the Spanish Primera Liga this season. Real Madrid are just one of the big clubs linked with a possible transfer this summer and the 20-year old Sevilla midfielder has offered plenty of encouragement to officials at the Bernabeu who may be considering signing him.

With Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all believed to be keen on the French under-20 international, Kondogbia was asked about a possible move from Sevilla this summer and which of the clubs most interested him and he was fairly unequivocal in his reply.

“It is always a pleasure to know people are interested in you,” said Kondogbia.

“Madrid? That makes me dream, but it is only a rumour for now. I want to play in the Champions League.

“My preference? Since childhood, Real Madrid.”

Kondogbia is a defensive midfielder who can also play in defence, but he is an all-round player who can also get forward. He works hard and is technically gifted as well. There could well be a lot of changes at Madrid this summer, whether or not Jose Mourinho moves on. It may depend on who is in charge at the club whether any move for Kondogbia is made, but it is clear that the young player would welcome it.
