Spanish star David Silva has warned his team mates not to pay too much attention to the poor start to the season that Real Madrid are having. After two defeats in the first four La Liga games, Madrid are sitting eight points behind their great rivals Barcelona and the Spanish media are calling it a crisis.
Silva knows the quality of Real Madrid, however, and he knows that Jose Mourinho is a master of getting his players fired up. Silva has described tonight’s game as a double-edged sword. Man City have got a good chance of recording an historic win in the Bernabeu and giving themselves a great start in the hardest Champion’s league group. There is a danger also of coming across a wounded lion and being savaged.
The general consensus is that Manchester City are going the right way to winning the Champion’s league one year, but they had a disastrous start last season and were eliminated at the group stage. They will be desperate to do better this time, but Mourinho has been talking to his team and has stated that he expects more of a team performance from them tonight.
A good omen for Mourinho is that the best performance of the season so far came in the hardest test, against Barcelona.
