Mourinho sees `REAL` Ronaldo as Real Madrid beat Chelsea

Posted on August 08, 2013 by admin

There were obviously a lot of old acquaintances in this game between Real Madrid and Chelsea to decide who won the International Champions Cup in Miami. To call it a friendly might be slightly misleading, however, because of the attempts by Jose Mourinho to wind up his former star player Cristiano Ronaldo by talking about the `real` Ronaldo being the Brazilian striker.

CR7 didn’t bother to respond to the jibes by his former boss, but you just knew that he would be dying to make him eat his words, and he did it in the best way possible, scoring two fantastic goals to ensure that Mourinho’s current club were beaten 3-1. It will also have been good for the current Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked in his second season as Chelsea manager, despite winning a league and cup double in his first season.

Another Madrid player who will have taken extra satisfaction from the victory is the club captain and goalkeeper Iker Casillas. The fact that the 32-year old stopper was in inspired form and pulled off some key saves during the game, will have made it extra sweet against the coach who seemed to think he was past it.

Marcelo scored the opening goal, but it was soon cancelled out by Chelsea’s Ramires. Ronaldo stepped up though, and beat Cech with a wonderful free-kick, before sealing the win with a brilliant run to head home the third.
