Pep Guardiola worried about dropping points to Malaga

Posted on January 22, 2012 by admin

The Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola has seen his team drop five points behind Real Madrid at the top of La Liga and is well aware that Barca can’t afford to drop any further behind without conceding the title.

“We know that in the Liga we are behind a rival that doesn’t lose points and we cannot allow any more to slip away.” Guardiola said. “If we don’t want their advantage to grow at the top, we cannot lose more points,”

But he admits that it will not be easy to take the points away from the new kids on the block Malaga, who have high hopes of challenging the big boys next season.

“The teams managed by Pellegrini always play well,” Guardiola said.

“Málaga is a very solid team, with a manager and footballers that have a lot of experience. Their left and right backs play very deep, their wingers know how to play and their strikers look for spaces. In general, they are quality players.”

But they can’t afford to lose, or the Mighty Madrid will take one step closer to the titleª!
