Perez and Levy cannot agree on details for Bale transfer to Real Madrid

The Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is finally showing his teeth to the Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy. The two are currently involved in lengthy negotiations about the transfer of the Premier League club’s star Gareth Bale. So far it has all been one way traffic from Levy, with the demands spiralling up into the realms of the ridiculous.

However, Perez is trying his best to inject some much needed reality into the proceedings. The fact that Madrid have already added some top quality players to the squad this summer helps Perez, as do the results of the survey on AS, which clearly shows that the Madrid fans do not think that the price for Bale should be between 60 and 70 million euros.

Perez has publicly stated that 100 million euros is too much, but Levy does not seem to have noticed. According to the Spanish paper, the Spurs chairman is now asking for the young striker Jese Rodriguez to be included in the deal. He wanted Alvaro Morata, but Madrid have made it clear that is not going to happen, and I’m sure the same will be true of Jese.

Perez is indicating that he expects the negotiations to go on right to the end of the transfer window. He knows that Levy is also under pressure from Bale, who will be very unhappy if the deal is not done.
