Perez happy to pay the price to bring Bale to Real Madrid

The president of Real Madrid has not been deflected from his pursuit of the Tottenham and Wales player Gareth Bale. Even the mention of having to break the world transfer record of £80 million that the club paid to Manchester United four years ago for Cristiano Ronaldo has not put him off.

Surely it is just a matter of time now, because the Premier League club will not be able to turn down that sort of offer, especially after they narrowly missed out on next season’s Champions League competition, with Arsenal overhauling a seven point gap in the last 10 games.

Perez is like a dog with a bone when it comes to transfer dealings, and Bale is his bone this summer. Jose Mourinho was not able to break the dominance of Barcelona, or win the club am historic 10th European cup, so it seems that Perez will turn again to his Galacticos approach. Missing out on Neymar, who joined their fierce rivals, has made him even more determined to capture Bale.

The president also played down the sale of Higuain, who has been strongly linked with Arsenal and Juventus, but Perez wants him to wait until a new manager arrives, while insisting he will not be allowed to leave unless the fee is a serious amount. Not surprising really, when you are talking about paying over £80 million for Bale.
