Real Madrid fans are probably used to the idea that Jose Mourinho will not be the manager of the club next season, and many will not be too upset about the idea. Mourinho did a great job winning the Spanish Primera Liga last season with a record number of points. He also managed to disrupt the seemingly untouchable Barcelona and halted the domination of Pep Guardiola. If he wins the Champions league for Madrid this season, his place in the history of the club will be secure, but his abrasive nature and the style of football his teams play is not in the traditional Real Madrid way.
His incredible success as a manager, ever since he led Porto to Uefa cup and Champions league glory, makes him one of the most sought after in world football. Super rich French club, Paris Saint-Germain, have been linked with Mourinho. He was rumoured to have met officials from the French club last month, and an official has admitted their interest.
What is worrying for Real Madrid, however, is that they want Mourinho to bring Christiano Ronaldo with him. The Portuguese player is known to be close to the manager, and has already spoken of his unhappiness at Real Madrid this season. Whether it was over money, image rights or a feeling that the club does not support him, Ronaldo feels that Mourinho is his best friend at the club.
Ronaldo would leave a massive hole to fill in the team, if PSG were able to prise him away. The Tottenham winger, Gareth Bale, has been linked with Madrid and could be the potential replacement.
