Real Madrid are good odds to win Champions League and La Liga

Jose Mourinho will admit that Real Madrid have not been at their sparkling best so far this season, and that is why they are not favourites to win either the Spanish Primera Liga or the Uefa Champions league, but they have started to show the form that allowed them to wrest the Spanish title back from Barcelona and only just miss out on the Champions league final.

The fact that Real Madrid have had to settle for second place in the so called group of death in the Champions league, with the German champions, Borussia Dortmund, finishing top, means that you can get a very tempting 10/3 on Real Madrid to lift the European trophy next year. With the talent on offer in the Madrid squad, and the fantastic record of Mourinho in the competition, those are crazy odds. The favourites are Barcelona, but the main objective of their new coach, Tito Vilanova, is to win back the Spanish title. Remember, also, that the Catalan side were beaten by Celtic in Glasgow and were lucky to beat them in Barcelona. They cannot defend set pieces, and Madrid have already beaten them in the two legged Spanish Supercup, when Madrid were struggling for form.

Real are also 10/3 to win the Primera Liga, which looks difficult at the minute because Barcelona have an eight point lead. We have all seen leads vanish quickly, however, and are yet to see how Vilanova copes when things are not going so well. They are completely reliant on the goals of Lionel Messi, so any injury or drop in form for the Argentinean would leave Barcelona in a heap of trouble.

For that reason, the odds of 12/5 for Ronaldo to be the top scorer in the Spanish league are also very generous, as are the odds of 15/8 for him to score the most goals in the Champions League. Ronaldo and Messi have both scored five goals in Europe this season, while Messi has five more than the 12 league goals from Ronaldo so far, but there is a long way to go. The likelihood is that Messi and Ronaldo will score more than any other player this season, so the 11/2 available for Ronaldo to be the top domestic goal scorer in Europe this season seems absolutely crazy, I am going to put some on that in a minute.

If you don’t fancy the odds for this game, then why not try your luck at JackpotCity. With a variety of games to play, there is something for everyone. Be sure to check out the Footy themed slots game called `Game On!` which has daily bonuses and will keep you amused with football nostalgia. If you prefer to keep the odds in your own hands, then perhaps you should take the dealer on at a game of Poker. Good Luck.

Real Madrid are away to Real Betis tomorrow. Betis were thrashed in the Seville derby last weekend by Sevilla, so it is no surprise that you can only get 2/7 for Madrid to triumph, but Madrid tend to start quickly, so the odds of 4/6 for them to be winning at half and full time are pretty good.
