Real Madrid boss Mourinho to replace Mancini at Man City?

Posted on November 30, 2012 by admin

Jose Mourinho got the better of Roberto Mancini when Real Madrid and Manchester City met in the Champions league this season, and the Special One could be about to take the Italian’s job in the summer, according to reports. Mourinho still has four years of his contract with the Spanish champions to run, but recently the fans have been voicing their anger as Barcelona have stretched their lead to 11 points.

Mancini has recently signed a new deal and has five years left on his contract, but City bosses are not happy with the performances this season, despite the English champions being unbeaten in the league. The Champions league performances were poor and City, who have spent fantastic amounts of money, are out at the group stages for the second consecutive year.

The Sun reports that Mourinho recently had a meeting with the director of football at Man City, Txiki Begiristain, who used to work for Madrid’s rivals Barcelona. Mourinho taunted Mancini for the club’s poor showing in Europe, suggesting that he would have been sacked by Madrid for such a bad run of games.

Mourinho may be in a similar position himself, however, if Real fail to beat local rivals Athletico Madrid tomorrow and drop further behind the Catalan giants. There are rumours of offers from Paris Saint-Germain for the Portuguese manager also. The big spending French club are desperate for some success to match their lay out, and Mourinho’s success all over Europe makes him the prime candidate for PSG.
