Real Madrid comfirm transfer of Isco from Malaga

Real Madrid have beaten the English Premier League’s Manchester City to make Isco the first signing of the newly appointed Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti’s reign at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. I am sure he won’t be the last player in or out of the club this summer, but his transfer is a real coup.

Not long ago, the talented young midfielder from Andalucia was believed to have agreed to follow his manager Manuel Pellegrini out of Malaga and La Liga to go to Man City, but Madrid have persuaded him to stay in Spain. Anybody who saw Malaga play last season in the Spanish league or the Champions League, as well as the recent under 21s tournament which Spain won, will know that Ancelotti has just got his hands on one of the most exciting young players in the world.

Malaga may be sad to see him leave, but their financial situation combined with their ban from European competition next season, made his transfer almost certain. The transfer fee of over €20 million will help them a great deal. Isco will now have a medical before being presented to the Madrid fans on July 3rd.
