Real Madrid have not bid for Bale says agent

Posted on July 03, 2013 by admin

We are led to believe that Gareth Bale is the top transfer target for Real Madrid this summer, but the club are tey to make any official contact with his Premier League club Tottenham or his representatives, according to Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett.

Bale himself has been making a few hints that he might want to leave Tottenham and come to Spain. He spoke about how he misses playing in the Champions League, which his club narrowly lost out to Arsenal for. The Welsh international has also been speaking about how he would like to play in other countries `one day`.

His agent, however, revealed, “Bale has not said no, nor yes. There’s no offer from Madrid; they’ll have to talk between themselves and we will see what happens.

“He was at Malaga airport, he’s been in Marbella on holiday. He comes back to Tottenham for pre-season training next week.”

I wonder if the signing of the young Spanish midfield star Isco from Malaga has taken the edge of Real Madrid’s eagerness to sign Bale, especially with the massive £80 million price tag. Unless Perez can negotiate a drop in the price, he may be happy to wait another year when Bale will have just a year left on his contract and should be much cheaper, while Ronaldo could be closer to an exit. Of course, the risk then is that another club move in and agree to pay the fee.

  1. Well 80 million euros they are asking for is too much. More like 50-60 million euros seems more reasonable for Bale.

Or even less… I know he’s been pretty good last season and all but will he be as effective in Madrid too? I doubt it.
Even though we got Zidane saying he is fit for Real but we don’t know many British players who could play as well as before once they were signed by Real Madrid. Michael Owen and David Beckham were not successful at all in Madrid even though they were both great players. Well, maybe this is rather a negative way of looking at this subject and I’m not sure what’s gonna happen if Real get to sign Bale. Hala Madrid
