Real Madrid injury problems almost over – just Bale and Alonso left

Posted on October 04, 2013 by admin

There are only two Real Madrid players who will not travel to face Levant in La Liga this weekend, but they are two massive players Gareth Bale and Xabi Alonso. However, with Bale not joining up with his Wales international team mates, Ancelotti expects him to be fit and ready for the first game after the break. Alonso will be close to his comeback then, so barring any more injuries, Madrid will have a full squad again for the first time in a long time.

So we have the young central defender Rafael Varane back in the squad and pushing Pepe, Coentrao and Marcelo fighting for the left back spot and Carvajal and Arbeloa at right back. Hopefully having all these available and fighting for a starting spoy will help Madrid to shore up their shaky defence. Despite media criticism of Benzema, the manager believes Madrid’s problem has been defending not attacking.

Having said that, the Italian has hinted that the young Spanish striker Alvaro Morata could be set for a start, although he also insisted that he was happy with the French striker and suggested that he merely needs to rotate his squad. Morata will be desperate for a start at the ground where he exploded onto the scene last season, coming on in the last 10 minutes and scoring the winner.
