Real Madrid offer cash and Callejon for Suarez

Real Madrid are really going to test the resolve of the English Premier League club Liverpool. They are not going to get much help from the object of all the attention, Luis Suarez, either. The Uruguayan striker has already expressed his wish to play for the Spanish giants, while at the same time suggesting that he is desperate to get away from the English media.

Suarez is happy enough with life at his current club, but they are not the big team they used to be, finishing down in seventh place and missing out on the Champions League places again. Suarez has still got plenty of years ahead of him, but he probably feels that he needs to be playing among Europe’s elite now.

Liverpool apparently value the 26-year old striker at around £40 million, whereas Madrid are planning to offer them around £20 million plus the Spanish forward Jose Callejon. Also 26-years old, Callejon has struggled to really cement his place in the first team, although he did score 13 goals last season.

He has always been more of a squad player at the Bernabeu, but he is a crowd favourite because he came through the youth system. Liverpool are already a bit short in the striking department, so Madrid think their offer should appeal, especially as the English club are well aware of Suarez and his firm intention to leave.

Suarez will be playing against many of the current Real Madrid team this summer, because Uruguay are in the Confederations cup along with Spain and Brazil. By the time it starts, he could be the first new Real Madrid player of the summer.
