Real Madrid players push panic button on Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti will be glad to return to the Champions League tomorrow, where he has enjoyed his best result of the season by far, the 6-1 away demolition of the Turkish champions Galatasaray. Madrid have been winning in La Liga, but often not very convincingly, and the derby defeat to Atletico at the weekend was the catalyst fir the players to call a crisis meeting with their boss.

Apparently, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo were the main speakers, being the club captains and best player. It is reported that Ramos insisted that the coach needs to trust his players more, while the general consensus was that all of them need to work harder individually and collectively.

The keeper and captain called for incidents like Pepe and Benzema having a heated row on the pitch to be cut out. Pepe is said to have apologised to the French striker, and there seems to be an understanding of the need for unity within the camp. Ramos is supposed to have said something along the lines of, `there is only one star here, Tonaldo, and everyone else needs to work hard`.

The concerns go higher as well, according to the Spanish media, as Ancelotti was called to a meeting with the president to discuss the situation. It seems like the players have got the right idea and are not blaming the boss. If they apply what has been said, there should be no problem.
