Real Madrid should act fast on Suarez

Posted on July 09, 2013 by admin

If Real Madrid want to sign Luis Suarez this summer they need to act fast and put in a bid for the striker after Liverpool rejected Arsenal’s £30m offer on Monday.

Betting fans know Suarez is worth far more to Liverpool than what Arsenal bid but the fact the auction has started means the 26-year-old’s future is likely to be settled within a fortnight. If new boss Carlo Ancelotti wants his man then he must get on the phone and place a substantial offer now.

Suarez is one of the hottest properties available this summer and after Madrid’s failure to capture Radamel Falcao and, it seems, Edinson Cavani the Liverpool frontman is the next best option. Suarez has proven at Anfield his versatility to playing as a lead striker or off a partner, his willingness to drop deep and his desire to win football matches.

Alongside Cristiano Ronaldo Madrid would have a fierce, clinical forward line capable of reclaiming La Liga and mounting a serious challenge on the Champions League. So why haven’t they gone in for him yet?

There is debate on the bet365 site that Ancelotti is waiting until the exodus happens before bringing in fresh talent. Gonzalo Higuain is set to depart while Ronaldo may also be on his way, so it looks as though the new boss may have to raise funds himself before spending. Gareth Bale is still a name in the headlines and if the opportunity arises to sign the Welshman then Suarez will probably be left alone.

That in itself is disappointing for there would be few defences that could cope with a Suarez attack flanked by Ronaldo and Bale. It would make Mesut Ozil and Isco’s jobs as providers fairly lucrative and would surely send Madrid top of the Spanish pile.

Unfortunately, the waiting game continues and if Ancelotti doesn’t act soon he will loose the chance of landing a world-class striker.
