The loan signing from Chelsea, Michael Essien, could be handed his first start in a Real Madrid shirt tomorrow, as Jose Mourinho takes his team to Sevilla determined not to drop any points in La Liga. Already five points behind Barcelona after a wobbly start, Madrid will need to be on form to overcome Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.
Sergio Ramos knows that Sevilla will provide a stern test on their home turf, having come through the ranks at the Andalucian club before moving to Madrid in 2005. The defender will not be going easy old club and will give his all to get the title race back on track, hoping also that Getafe can take some points off Barcelona.
Mourinho may tinker with the line up to give Sami Khedira a rest. The German international played every minute of Germany’s two World Cup Qualifiers and Mourinho has an eye on Tuesday, when Manchester City visit the Vernabeu for the champion’s league opener.
Mesut Ozil may get the nod as play maker over Luka Modric, after hitting form again with Germany. Modric is still getting back to fitness and Mourinho may also be saving the Croatian for Tuesday. Modric has alot more experience of the English game and that could prove vital.
