Real Madrid Teammates speak out on the Ronaldo situation

Last weekend Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t celebrate his two goals in Madrid’s win over Getafe. He revealed to the media later on that he was unhappy for professional reasons which are yet to be revealed.

Reports suggested that he had held a meeting with club president Florentino Perez, in which he stated he didn’t feel he had the support from the rest of the squad and that he was unhappy and he wanted to leave. The reports are not confirmed as true, but the 27 year old then later said via his twitter account; “That I am feeling sad and have expressed this sadness has created a huge stir, I am accused of wanting more money, but one day it will be shown that this is not the case.”

Real Madrid defender Arbeloa, who was quoted in Spanish based newspaper Marca (The Newspaper focuses on Madrid a lot and has been highly regarded as Real Madrid’s Newspaper) saying; “He just needs more affection from everybody, I don’t know, that’s all we can give him. Everybody has the right to be sad. He’s a person just like anyone else. He doesn’t share the problems of most Spanish people but it’s perfectly reasonable that he can be sad.”

“When Cristiano says (that he’s sad) then perhaps it makes more of an impression. We’re all going to help him because he is our friend. I hope the fans haven’t taken his words the wrong way. The media have great power and people are influenced by what they hear and read.”

“He knows that he’s with the best team and hopefully he’ll stay here until he retires. And if the fans keep believing in him, he’ll be remembered as a club icon. We will help him.”

Whilst Goalkeeper Iker Casillas said; “I understand that it is difficult for people to understand the situation faced by players, but we are also human and as all other people, we have our concerns. We have friends, family and everyday things.”

So it seems that Cristiano Ronaldo hasn’t told anyone about what is making him unhappy, although Casillas’ comments do suggest it’s something to do with personal thoughts. Is Ronaldo looking for a move away or is he just not sure where to turn next.
