Real Madrid to rest Bale until El Clasico with Barcelona

There is a concern at Real Madrid that the niggling injuries that have not allowed the club’s massive summer signing to make much of an impact could continue if they are not given time to recover properly. So Gareth Bale has had extensive tests on his thigh to determine the extent of the problem.

The results are not too bad, and the Welshman could be ready to play soon. However, after paying something like 100 million euros for Bale and only seeing him on the pitch for 132 minutes, Madrid are understandably being ultra cautious with him. So the club intends for Bale to not play until the end of October, in the first El Clasico of the season at the Nou Camp.

As well as this weekends game, Madrid want Bale to miss the international games with Wales, and then the first La Liga game afterwards, which is at home to Malaga. The Clasico is on Sunday27th October, and the club feel that this is more than enough time for Bale to be 100 percent. However, there is a crucial Champions League game at home to Juventus before that, and I would be surprised if Bale didn’t get at least a late run out in that, rather than throwing him straight into the heat of a derby match in Barcelona.
