Real Madrid to sell Ozil to United making room for Bale

Posted on August 16, 2013 by admin

It seems like Real Madrid will have to wait until the end of the transfer window in order to complete the world record signing of Gareth Bale. Most football insiders assume that the deal will be done, though. Tottenham are using the time to strengthen their squad, knowing that they will be losing their star players.

At the same time, Real Madrid are trying to raise some money, and they are going to do so by selling one or two of the players who are likely to fins themselves on the fringes of the team this season. With Bale coming and Isco, Illarramendi, Casemiro and Carvajal already signed, some players know that their opportunities will be limited.

Angel Di Maria was the player who seemed to be at the exit door, but the Argentinean has decided to stick it out, apparently after Cristiano Ronaldo had an encouraging talk with him. The player who seems to be getting ready to go, according to the Daily Mail, is the German international Mesut Ozil. The paper reports that Ozil could soon be a Manchester United player, as his representatives have made it clear that he would like to play for the English champions.

The transfer fee being mentioned is around £35 million, which would really help towards the huge fee being demanded by Daniel Levy. United have been trying to boost their midfield options all summer, so the deal seems to be good for everyone, if it happens of course.
