Real Madrid transfer of Bale from Tottenham almost Done Deal

Posted on July 23, 2013 by admin

there must have been lots going on behind the scenes between Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, because the transfer of Gareth Bale, which seemed to have gone cold recently, is now apparently on the verge of completion, according to Marca.

The newspaper has reported that the talented Welsh international set this new phase of the transfer in motion by telling his club bosses that he wanted a move away from White Hart Lane. Apparently the terms between all three parties are now agreed, with Real Madrid due to pay Tottenham around 80 million euros and include the Portuguese left back Fabio Coentrao into the deal.

The 24-year old star, who won both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year in the Premier League last season will be paid around 10 million euros a year, which works out at around £160,000 per week before tax, a huge increase in his current salary. Tottenham were also ready to raise his wages significantly, but it seems that Bale has set his heart on playing for the biggest club in the world.

Manchester United may have helped Madrid to get their man, because they were rumoured to be ready to match the Madrid offer, but Tottenham really did not want Bale moving to another English club, making them more amenable to the offer from Madrid. The deal could be officially completed and announced this week after all concerned have met in Los Angeles.
