Real Madrid transfer rumours can be completed now Ancelotti is official

Posted on June 25, 2013 by admin

The long awaited appointment of a new Real Madrid manager has been completed and officially announced by the club today, with the PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti taking charge as expected. The Italian has been given a three year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu. His task will be the same as that given to his predecessor Jose Mourinho; to end the dominance of Barcelona and win the historic 10th European cup for Real Madrid.

His Champions League, as well as his domestic success, is one of the reasons that Florentino Perez has been determined to get his man. Ancelotti won the Champions League twice as manager of AC Milan, in 2003 and 2007, after lifting the trophy twice as a player. He has won league titles in England with Chelsea, France with PSG and Italy with Milan, so his pedigree is first class.

Perhaps more importantly, Ancelotti is a gentleman and works well with the media. After the tension and aggression on show during Mourinho’s turbulent reign, Madrid are as keen to get the reputation back as they are to see footballing success.

Ancelotti must get straight to work with Perez now, sorting out the transfer window comings and goings from the club. First on the agenda should be the sale of Gonzalo Higuain, probably to Arsenal, as well as the decision about who to bring in. Edinson Cavani, Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale are just three of the names that we could see playing in La Liga next season. It should be a hectic few weeks now, especially once the window officially opens on July 1st.
