Real Madrid wait for Bale talks with Levy and Tottenham

It is no secret that Real Madrid would lo9ve to sign the Welsh international star Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur, but they will not be aggressive about it because of the good relationship between the Spanish and English clubs and between the presidents Daniel Levy and Florentino Perez.

The last realistic chance for Madrid being able to complete the transfer of Bale this summer is for the player himself to talk to his bosses and push for a move. That would not be too surprising, especially when you consider that the 23-year old was unanimously voted as the Player of the Year in the English Premier league, but will only be playing in the Europa League again next season.

Last season was probably the best chance for Tottenham to beat Arsenal for the final Champions League spot, due to the financial restrictions imposed on Arsene Wenger, which have now been relaxed. Bale returned to White Hart lane for pre-season training today, and he is expected to have a talk with the club’s hierarchy. Hopefully that will be good news for Madrid, although there is a feeling that we may have to wait for one more year before signing Bale.

The fact that Ronaldo is happy to stay at the Bernabeu for at least one more season makes the transfer of Bale less urgent, while he will be much cheaper with a year less on his Tottenham contract.
