Real Madrid want Kondogbia to replace Alonso!!

Posted on April 16, 2013 by admin

Since he joined Real Madrid from Liverpool in 2009, the Spanish international midfielder Xabi Alonso has been a mainstay at the heart of Madrid’s midfield. He has a fantastic attitude and work rate, along with the ability to make deadly accurate passes anywhere on the pitch as well as controlling the game from his deep lying position. At 31-years old, Alonso has a good few years left in him, but Real Madrid are already on the lookout for a player that might be able to fill his boots.

The name that has cropped up in the Spanish media is that of Geoffrey Kondogbia. The 20-year old French youth international is currently playing in La Liga for Sevilla, but it is widely believed that the Andalusian club will not be able to hold on to him this summer. Sevilla have got serious financial problems and will have to sell at least one of their best players, and Kondogbia may be their most valuable asset.

Knodogbia has been very impressive for Sevilla in La Liga since joining from the French club Lens last summer. He still has a lot to learn, but has the potential to be a world beater in the defensive midfield role. If he does come to Madrid this summer, he will have lots of top quality players to learn from, including Alonso.

Madrid will not have it all their own way, however. Kondogbia has been watched by scouts from Manchester City and there are rumours that both AC Milan and Inter are preparing bids for him. This could spark a transfer battle that could push the player’s price up to around £15 million.
