Real Madrid will not be selling Kaka to AC Milan

It appears that the Brazilian midfielder Kaka will be a Real Madrid player, at least until the summer, after talks broke down with the Seria A club AC Milan. The 30-year old signed from Milan for €65 million in 2009 and has a contract at the Bernabeu until 2015. He has dropped further and further down the pecking order at the club since Jose Mourinho took the reigns, and was happy to make the move back to his former club.

Madrid were not expecting to receive the same amount of money that they paid for the player, but the deal that Milan have offered is obviously not acceptable. Rumour has it that Milan were only willing to pay his wages and take him on loan until his contract runs out, but surely another club would be willing to pay a fee for Kaka. He was the best player in the world not too long ago, and has performed well on the few chances he has had this season, for Madrid and the Brazil national team.

Maybe he will get some more chances under Mourinho this season, with fixtures piling up and injuries to worry about. Milan seem to have given up hope and the president has claimed it is down to `tax reasons` whatever they may be.

“The negotiation has failed. We have given up due to the fiscal situation.

“Kaka made every possible effort but everything has failed due to the fiscal situation that convinced Real to stop the negotiations.

“At this point I think we will remain as we are.”
