Ronaldo wants to stay at Real Madrid

Posted on January 14, 2013 by admin

Real Madrid experienced this weekend what it would be like if Christiano Ronaldo was not in the team, and it did not look good. Failing to score against the club at the bottom of the Spanish Primera Liga is worrying and shows just how important the Portuguese number seven is to the club. Ronaldo allayed the fears or Madrid fans that he might be leaving at the end of the season by declaring that he was happy to play for Madrid at least until 2015 when his current contract runs out.

Many fans are worried that he would push for a move to another club, possibly following Jose Mourinho if he moved, but Ronaldo has denied that. The stories earlier in the season about him being unhappy for some reason seem to have gone away, and the player does seem a lot more content with his situation these days.

“I want to finish my contract with Real Madrid, let me make that clear. After that I don’t know what will happen.”

Obviously, Madrid will try to get him to extend his contract long before it runs out. We do not want him leaving on a free transfer in the summer of 2015, but a lot can happen between now and then. For one of the best players in the world, Ronaldo will want to compete for trophies and Real Madrid will need to do a lot better next season in the league, whoever is in charge.

If Mourinho does move on in the summer, as expected, The relationship between a new coach and Ronaldo could be vital on his decision on whether to sign a new deal or not. For now, st least, he is focused on doing his best for Real Madrid.
