Real Madrid have no worries after Champions League draw with Schalke 0

Posted on December 16, 2013 by admin

There is not really any such thing as an easy game in the last 16 of the Champions League, but Real Madrid players, fans and manager will be quite pleased to have drawn the German Bundesliga club Schalke for the knockout games due to be played in February.

It could have been a lot worse and it could have been a little better. Zenit St. Petersburg or Olympiakos would probably have been the choice, but Madrid did very well to avoid Arsenal, Man City or AC Milan. Even better news is that Barcelona were drawn with Man City and Bayern were drawn with Arsenal, so two very strong sides will be going out.

Real Madrid transfer news – Pogba, Ramires and Khedira 0

If there is any truth in the rumours linking Real Madrid with the Juventus player Paul Pogba and the Chelsea player Ramires, it suggests that Carlo Ancelotti has identified a weakness in his La Liga side. Both if the players mentioned play in a box-to-box midfield role, with the onus being on energy and work rate.

That is currently the position filled by Sami Khedira and Luka Modric, and while the former Tottenham man seems happy, is playing well and has become a fans favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu, the German international does not seem entirely settled. There have been stories in the press about Khedira and he was critical of the decision to sell Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.

Real Madrid have competition for Bale say Tottenham 0

There is widespread belief in Spain and England that Real Madrid have all but completed the signing of Gareth Bale from Tottenham, but there are rumours that there may be another club interested and Real Madrid could still lose out on the man they have been chasing hard all summer.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, the platform that is used to show off new signings to the Real Madrid fans has already been erected, and many media sources in Spain and England are reporting that the unveiling of the Welsh international is due to take place tomorrow. Bale is supposedly injured and just happens to be `recovering` on holiday in Spain’s Costa Del Sol, but that is rather hard to believe.

Ronaldo can answer Mourinho when Real Madrid meet Chelsea 0

Posted on August 05, 2013 by admin

Cristiano Ronaldo knows just what Jose Mourinho is like from the three seasons at Real Madrid together. So it probably did not surprise the 28-year old striker all that much to hear that the not-so-special one has been mouthing off again and aiming childish jibes at his former player.

It is clear that the two did not always get along when Mourinho was in charge at the Bernabeu, but the manager knew that Ronaldo was a special talent and never kept him out of the side for long or for any important games. He seems to have forgotten that, however, after his statement last week about Cristiano not being the `real` Ronaldo.

After Real Madrid given £100m price Bale gets angry with Tottenham 2

Any ideas of Real Madrid getting an easy ride from Tottenham Hotspur because of the special relationship that the two clubs were alleged to have agreed on after the transfer of Luka Modric last summer can be put to one side. The Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy seems determined to make it as hard as possible for Madrid to complete the transfer that would be the cherry on the top of a fantastic summer at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Cavani has time deadline for Real Madrid transfer 0

Posted on June 23, 2013 by admin

Edinson Cavani is reported to be one of the main targets for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, and it seems like the Uruguayan striker would prefer to come to the Santiago Bernabeu to play in La Liga, although Chelsea and Manchester City also want him in the English Premier League.

It is hardly surprising that his transfer is not a simple matter, though, because of the massive release clause of over £50 million in his contract with Napoli. That clause expires early in August, but that could actually mean that it is harder to sign him, because the Serie A club would not have to accept any offer.

Mourinho aims final accusation at Real Madrid players 0

Posted on June 03, 2013 by admin

Never one to take even the tiniest percentage of blame onto his own shoulders, Jose Mourinho has suggested that the Real Madrid players have been at fault for any failure during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. He did not name any names or talk about any specific incidents, but it is clear that the subtext of his statement was that the Madrid players did not do what he wanted, when he wanted it and it is their fault that he only won two major trophies in three seasons in Spain.

Arbeloa blames Real Madrid players not Mourinho for failure 0

The dream team and the dream is over. Real Madrid, the biggest and richest team in the world, and the manager thought to be the best in the world, Jose Mourinho, have gone their separate ways. It is safe to say that the dream partnership did not work. It was supposed to end the dominance of FC Barcelona and bring the historic 10th European cup to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, but neither of those two main objectives has been achieved.

Cavani hints at Real Madrid transfer 0

There are, realistically, only two clubs in Spain with the financial ability and pulling power to sign the world’s top strikers, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Seeing as how the Catalan club have this week agreed a five year deal with the young Brazilian striker, the story about Edinson Cavani wanting to come to play in Spain suggests strongly that Real Madrid is likely to be the striker’s next destination.

The 26-year old Napoli striker is currently on international duty with Utuguay and will be involved in the confederations cup next month. He is the subject of interest from a host of big clubs around Europe, including Chelsea and Manchester City and was asked about his future.

Ancelotti to reunite Rooney with Ronaldo at Real Madrid 0

Posted on May 26, 2013 by admin

When Real Madrid paid around £80 million for Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2009, it split up a fantastic playing partnership between the Portuguese star and his Manchester United team mate Wayne Rooney. They seemed to have an inherent understanding, with Rooney being one of the few players who can see the same things as Ronaldo does on the pitch. He also has the ability to make those things happen.

The England international is unsettled at Old Trafford, apparently, and there are a number of clubs hoping to take advantage, including Chelsea, Man City and PSG. United and their new manager David Moyes do not want to lose him, but if they cannot persuade Rooney to extend his current contract, finances may force them to sell.
