Ronaldo signs new contract to keep him at Real Madrid forever 0

Any hopes that other teams may have had of prising Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid went up in smoke today. The Portuguese star has signed a new five year contract with the Spanish giants, ending all the rumour and speculation that has surrounded him for the last year.

Ever since he said, near the beginning of last season, that he was sad, there have been stories in the media linking him with Manchester United, City, Chelsea, PSG and others, but he insisted today that Madrid was his home and made a point of saying that he is happy. I wonder if Mr. Mourinho could have had anything to do with Ronaldo’s sadness, because he does seem to have a knack of pissing players off.

Real Madrid have competition for Bale say Tottenham 0

There is widespread belief in Spain and England that Real Madrid have all but completed the signing of Gareth Bale from Tottenham, but there are rumours that there may be another club interested and Real Madrid could still lose out on the man they have been chasing hard all summer.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, the platform that is used to show off new signings to the Real Madrid fans has already been erected, and many media sources in Spain and England are reporting that the unveiling of the Welsh international is due to take place tomorrow. Bale is supposedly injured and just happens to be `recovering` on holiday in Spain’s Costa Del Sol, but that is rather hard to believe.

Zidane was the key to Real Madrid beating Man City to Isco 0

There was quite a bit of surprise in the football world when Real Madrid confirmed that the young midfield star of Malaga and the Spain under 21 side, Isco, would be playing at the Santiago Bernabeu next season. That one of the best yound players in the world, especially if they are Spanish, moves to Real Madrid seems normal, but with Isco it was different.

For one thing, it seemed like his move to the English Premier League with Manchester City was almost complete. He had spoken about Manuel Pellegrini being his footballing father and moving to England. Also, Isco has previously spoken about his antipathy for Real Madrid. He spoke about the perceived arrogance of the Spanish giants and confessed to being a bit of an `Anti-Madridista`.

Isco will be Ancelotti’s 1st Real Madrid signing 0

After weeks of uncertainty and concern about the managerial situation at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti is finally free to take over at the Santiago Bernabeu. The tide is now turning for Madrid, and the mood of optimism will now get another boost, because the young midfield star Isco has agreed to join the club this summer.

Francisco Ramon Alarcon Suarez has been trying to decide whether to follow his mentor Manuel Pellegrini out of Malaga and La Liga altogether and try his luck in the English Premier League with Manchester City. According to both Marca and AS today, however, the lure of Real Madrid and continuing his meteoric rise in La Liga and the Spain national team was just too tempting to turn down.

Cavani hints at Real Madrid transfer 0

There are, realistically, only two clubs in Spain with the financial ability and pulling power to sign the world’s top strikers, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Seeing as how the Catalan club have this week agreed a five year deal with the young Brazilian striker, the story about Edinson Cavani wanting to come to play in Spain suggests strongly that Real Madrid is likely to be the striker’s next destination.

The 26-year old Napoli striker is currently on international duty with Utuguay and will be involved in the confederations cup next month. He is the subject of interest from a host of big clubs around Europe, including Chelsea and Manchester City and was asked about his future.

Atletico have clause to prevent Falcao joining Real Madrid 0

There have been lots of rumours about the Colombian striker Radamel Falcao and which club he might transfer to in the summer. Real Madrid are understandably keen to sign the prolific hit man, but it appears that they would have to pay their local city rivals much more than any other club to do so.

AS has reported that Atletico Madrid have put a clause into Falcao’s contract that means he would cost their city rivals Real €75 million, whereas any other club would only pay €60 million. Whether this will put Real Madrid off or not is unclear, but it does make it less likely.

Laudrup refuses to talk about coaching Real Madrid 0

Posted on February 22, 2013 by admin

Michael Laudrup is the man the Real Madrid fans seem to want to take over from Jose Mourinho. The favourite with the bookmakers is Carlo Ancelotti who is coaching Paris Saint-Germain at the minute, and who has a wealth of experience, with two European cups and both the Italian and English league and cup doubles. Despite that, over 70 percent of Madrid fans voted for Laudrup in an online poll.

Mourinho has Premier league incentive to guide Real Madrid to beat Man United! 0

Posted on February 13, 2013 by admin

The match tonight between two giants of world football, Real Madrid and Manchester United, has been billed as the game the world is waiting for, among other things. For the players, coaches and everyone involved with the clubs, there is massive importance on this first leg at the Bernabeu.

For Jose Mourinho, however, it holds an extra incentive. The Portuguese manager has spoken before about how he enjoyed his time in charge of Chelsea and how he would like to return one day. He has spoken about it again in the build up to this Champions league double header, and has hinted that he would consider moving back to the Premier league in England sooner rather than later.

Mourinho wants to win Champions league with Real Madrid before he leaves 0

Jose Mourinho has been asked outright by members of the Spanish media whether he will continue to be the manager of Real Madrid after the end of this season, but the Portuguese manager deftly deflected the questions, suggesting that they should ask the man who is responsible for making the decisions, Real’s president Florentino Perez.

There is a growing feeling in football circles, however, that this season will be the last for Mourinho at the Bernabeu. The Special one has lost the backing of some of the Madrid fans, despite winning back the Primera Liga title from Barcelona last season. The Catalan side have stormed into an 11 point lead over Madrid, and last season’s record breaking exploits seem a long way away.

Real Madrid fans show their displeasure to Mourinho 0

Jose Mourinho chose not to face reporters at the press conference following last night’s match. Real Madrid had beaten Alcoyano 4-1 in the first leg of this Copa Del Rey encounter, and Mourinho gave some players a chance. Only Modric and Ozil from the regular first team started the game, and there was an odd atmosphere all night. It took until the 72nd minute for the substitue Di Maria to open the scoring, after which Callejon added two more, but it was not the game that caused supporters to boo Mourinho but the season so far.
