Things really have taken an upward turn for Real Madrid and the chances of major trophy success this season ever since the top brass at the Santiago Bernabeu decided to call it a day on the previous manager Rafa Benitez and replace the former Liverpool and Chelsea boss with the former Real Madrid and France star Zinedine Zidane.

Fans flock to Real Madrid but they won’t see Ronaldo in Copa final 0

So here we are at another El Clasico contest between Real Madrid and Barcelona to decide who lifts the Copa Del Rey in 2014. After their recent problems, this is probably more important to the Catalan club because it looks like their best chance of getting their hands on a trophy this season, but Carlo Ancelotti and his players are determined to stop that happening.

The bad news for Real Madrid is that our best player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has not recovered from the injury he picked up a couple of weeks ago against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League first leg. The second leg showed just how much Madrid can struggle without the Portuguese superstar, although this weekend’s La Liga win showed that we have plenty of quality throughout the side.

Real Madrid must forget Clasico and focus on positives 0

There is a lot of disappointment and anger among Real Madrid fans, and I am sure that Carlo Ancelotti and his players took the defeat hard, but there is no reason to dwell on it or keep going on about the refereeing decisions. To be honest, there are plenty of reasons to be positive and look forward, while thinking about the Clasico game could be an unwelcome distraction.

Ronaldo knows two good wins will transform Real Madrid season 0

Real Madrid are ready for the visit of the Italian champions in the Champions League tonight, but Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that they do have one eye on this weekend’s La Liga game. Not surprising really, when it is the first El Clasico of the season.

The Portuguese superstar knows that a win tonight followed by a win against Barcelona in the Nou Camp on Saturday, will put a completely different slant on the season so far. Los Blancos may have stuttered and been a bit lucky in La Liga so far, but three points in El Clasico will put Madrid level on points with their fierce rivals. With a new manager and new players, as well as all the injury problems suffered by Gareth Bale, that would be seen as a very good start.

Bale WILL play for Real Madrid vs. Malaga today 0

Carlo Ancelotti has got a few of his Real Madrid stars missing for today’s La Liga visit of Malaga to the Bernabeu, most notably Rafael Varane, the young French international defender, who picked up a knock to his knee whil with the France team. It’s not serious, but it means that Pepe and Sergio Ramos will start today.

Another player who is a doubt, after sitting out yesterday’s training session with a bruised calf. The French striker may still be okay, and will surely be keen to continue his international form, where he scored in both games. Benzema has been working hard and has began to look like his old self, so he will not want to have to sit this one out.

Coleman wades into Real Madrid and Bale injury saga!! 0

It will be very interesting to see the Real Madrid squad and the starting XI for the trip to play Malaga in La Liga on Saturday, because the news coming out of Real Madrid is that Gareth Bale should be alright to play. The Club has already declared that the injury news reported by the Spanish newspaper Marca is incorrect.

The report claimed that Bale had a slipped disc and would need surgery. It also claimed that the injury was known to Florentino Perez the club president before the massive transfer was completed at the beginning of last month. Perez and Madrid have categorically denied this and explained that Bale does have a small, chronic disc bulge on his back, but it is fairly normal for footballers and will not stop him playing.

Ronaldo wants 7 in a row against Barcelona in Clasico! 0

If Real Madrid are going to beat Barcelona in the Bernabeu tomorrow, they will need the goal machine that is Cristiano Ronaldo to be firing on all cylinders. Recent history suggests that he will be, as the Clasico seems to bring out the competitive spirit in the Portuguese striker.

The 27-year old with dangerous weapons in his legs has scored in every one of the last six encounters between the clubs, seven goals in all. That is a fantastic achievement and will give Barcelona reason to fear. The Barca defence is always likely to concede, so Madrid need to get them on the back foot and we need Ronaldo to run at them and terrorise the defenders.

Real Madrid’s Pepe and Ronaldo should recover from injuries in time for Portugal 0

Christiano Ronaldo and Pepe both picked up injuries in the frenetic Clasico against Barcelona on Sunday. Ronaldo landed awkwardly and spent the rest of the game struggling with an injury to his shoulder.
Pepe was involved in a few full-blooded challenges and his left thigh has been bothering him.

Medical staff from Real Madrid passed both players as okay to join up with the Portugal national team who play against Russia in Moscow on Friday and Northern Ireland next week. Both players have been training very lightly separately from the rest of the squad and were looking doubtful but are now looking better and could start.

Real Madrid fans given hope for La liga after Ronaldo secures a draw against Barcelona 0

Going to face Barcelona at the Nou Camp is never an easy proposition, but Real Madrid and their fans had extra reasons for concern before yesterday’s Clasico. Barcelona had a 100 percent record in the league and a defeat would have left Jose Mourinho and his team a massive 11 points behind the leaders. It was not just the gaining of a point that has inspired confidence for the future, but the manner in which it was gained.
