Bookies back Bale despite Real Madrid UCL exit! 0

Posted on May 14, 2015 by admin

It has been a bad week for Gareth Bale and Real Madrid, without a shadow of a doubt. The Wales international may have been looking forward to getting back onto the pitch after his latest injury lay off, but his first match back was against Juventus in Turin and not only did he fail to help Real Madrid to avoid defeat, he was unanimously slated for his performance against the Italian champions.

Real Madrid ready to relent and let Morata leave? 0

The case of Alvaro Morata and Real Madrid is a curious one and it has taken a few twists in the past year or so. And there could be another one coming soon, with rumours that manager Carlo Ancelotti and the club are ready to siften their stance on the promising young striker and let him leave the Santiago Bernabeu during this January transfer window.

When Jose Mourinho was getting grief from the media and fans alike last season about his failure to use promising youngsters, Morata was just about the only one he seemed to like and the young striker rewarded his faith with two massive goals coming on as a late sub.

Real Madrid transfer news – Pogba, Ramires and Khedira 0

If there is any truth in the rumours linking Real Madrid with the Juventus player Paul Pogba and the Chelsea player Ramires, it suggests that Carlo Ancelotti has identified a weakness in his La Liga side. Both if the players mentioned play in a box-to-box midfield role, with the onus being on energy and work rate.

That is currently the position filled by Sami Khedira and Luka Modric, and while the former Tottenham man seems happy, is playing well and has become a fans favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu, the German international does not seem entirely settled. There have been stories in the press about Khedira and he was critical of the decision to sell Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.

Casillas asks questions with stunning saves to earn Real Madrid a point 0

For long periods of the game in Turin last night, Real Madrid were outplayed by the Italian champions Juventus. The first half especially was a case of holding on under concerted pressure from the home team. Iker Casillas had already kept Madrid level before a rash challenge in the box by Rafael Varane gave Vidal the chance to open the scoring from the penalty spot, and he did so just before the break.

Defence still a worry as Real Madrid need a result at Juventus 0

Posted on November 04, 2013 by admin

Having let five goals in over the course of the last two games, Real Madrid need to sort their defence out pretty quickly. Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano are not exactly the toughest opponents either, so a trip to face Juventus in the Champions League would appear to be a much harder test for the Madrid defenders.

The Italian champions are yet to win in the Champions League this season, having lost in Madrid last time and drawn their first two games, at home to Galatasaray and away to Copenhagen, but that should not be taken into consideration. Ancelotti will know that Juventus will have a point to prove and are unlikely to make it easy.

Ronaldo knows two good wins will transform Real Madrid season 0

Posted on October 23, 2013 by admin

Real Madrid are ready for the visit of the Italian champions in the Champions League tonight, but Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that they do have one eye on this weekend’s La Liga game. Not surprising really, when it is the first El Clasico of the season.

The Portuguese superstar knows that a win tonight followed by a win against Barcelona in the Nou Camp on Saturday, will put a completely different slant on the season so far. Los Blancos may have stuttered and been a bit lucky in La Liga so far, but three points in El Clasico will put Madrid level on points with their fierce rivals. With a new manager and new players, as well as all the injury problems suffered by Gareth Bale, that would be seen as a very good start.

Bale IS training with Real Madrid and WILL be ready for Clasico 0

The news that Gareth Bale has been training with his Real Madrid team mates since they returned from international duty this week seems to settle the question of his injury once and for all. After the Spanish news agency Marca claimed that he had a hernia or slipped disc that would require surgery, the Club denied it and Bale would not be training if that was the case.

Real Madrid to rest Bale until El Clasico with Barcelona 0

Posted on October 03, 2013 by admin

There is a concern at Real Madrid that the niggling injuries that have not allowed the club’s massive summer signing to make much of an impact could continue if they are not given time to recover properly. So Gareth Bale has had extensive tests on his thigh to determine the extent of the problem.

The results are not too bad, and the Welshman could be ready to play soon. However, after paying something like 100 million euros for Bale and only seeing him on the pitch for 132 minutes, Madrid are understandably being ultra cautious with him. So the club intends for Bale to not play until the end of October, in the first El Clasico of the season at the Nou Camp.

Real Madrid will NOT have it easy in Champions League 0

The draw for the Champions League group stages was yesterday, and I have read a few reports that say Real Madrid got a good draw, but I think this a bit short sighted. Maybe it is because the club were in the so-called group of death last season with Man City, Dortmund and Ajax, but this year’s is far from easy.

The Italian champions Juventus will always be a threat and they have added the firepower of the former Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente and the Argentinean froward Carlos Tevez this summer. This is a team that has won Serie A three times in a row and has bags of talent and European experience. Our Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti will be well aware of how dangerous an opponent they will be.

Zidane relaxed about his new coaching role at Real Madrid 0

Posted on July 13, 2013 by admin

If Zinedine Zidane canbring even half of his talent as a player into the realm of management, then the Frenchman has a long and glorious career ahead of him, hopefully with Real Madrid. He has been working at the Santiago Bernabeu as the sporting director since 2011, but is now moving into coaching and management.

Zidane understands that his playing career means that there will be a great deal of media attention and expectation around him, but he asserts that he is relaxed and will just get on with learning his role and performing his duties as well as he can.
