Jose Mourinho has given the first chance to lead the line for Real Madrid to Gonzalo Higuain. The 24-year old Argentinean international striker has impressed Mourinho in training with his work, dedication and attitude. 24-year old French international Karim Benzema will start on the bench against Valencia today.

Higuain has been training since the first available day, July 15th. He is, therefore, further along in his preparations. Benzema came back later because he was with France at Euro 2012. There were a lot of rumours at the end of last season that Higuain was going to move on this summer, but he convinced his manager that he was determined and ready to fight for his place at the Bernabeu.  ......Read more...

It was reported that Hamit Altintop had signed for Turkish club Galatasaray, but the player has since denied this. The Turkish international midfielder told Marca “I have not signed anything. It is not true that I signed with another club. I have not said anything about it.”

After hardly featuring for Real Madrid this season and with international team mate Nuri Sahin now fit, it was thought that Altintop was going to seek regular football elsewhere. Maybe he is in talks but nothing has been agreed. We shall see.  ......Read more...

Since Barcelona closed the gap at the top of la liga to eight points, the media have started talking about pressure and the possibility of Barcelona catching Madrid.

Lass, who played his first game for Madrid since February 5th on sunday was glad to be back in the team but disappointed with the result, if not his own contribution. He rallied Madrid supporters today stating that, “there is no fire at home,” meaning it was not that serious.  ......Read more...
