Zidane to help Real Madrid persuade Bale to leave Tottenham

The former Real Madrid and France star Zinedine Zidane has been working with the club in some respect since retiring from football. Zidane is set to take on a coaching role at the Bernabeu in the future, but at the minute he is having a series of meetings with the club president Florentino Perez, who values his intimate football knowledge greatly.

Zidane has helped to convince Perez that the Welsh international Gareth Bale is the player they must try to sign above all others this summer. He has been heaping praise on the English Premier League’s Player of the Year, hoping to persuade the Tottenham man not to stay with his current club, but to come to Spain and further his career.

The failure of Tottenham means that Bale would be playing in the Europa League next season, which is surely a waste of his talents. Zidane has declared that the 23-year old is one of the very few players that can be compared with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and he should be playing at the very top level.

Tottenham are offering to increase his wages significantly, but Bale has not decided yet. It is very important for Perez to sign Bale, not just to help the club, because he is facing an election and the fans are less than happy about how things have been going under Mourinho. Barcelona’s signing of Neymar this week will only increase the pressure.
